    Glow-worms appear in Scottish culture. The great man himself Sir Walter Scott included them in the poem ‘Proud Maisie’ Extract The glow-worm o’er grave and stone Shall light thee steady The owl from the steeple sing “Welcome proud lady” Did he see them in Scotland I wonder or on his travels elsewhere.
